Grand Tetons & Jackson Hole
One of the most beautiful camping trips we’ve taken by far! We stayed for 5 days and got to enjoy camping in the mountains as well as going out on the town in Jackson Hole. Our campsite overlooked a river with breathtaking mountain views and a pathway to the river where we fished and enjoyed the waterfall. The first day it rained almost the entire time so we made our awning wall out of a tarp our friends brought which helped keep us out of the rain while all of us hung out together. Now we have the actual walls that go with our awning so we’ll be better prepared next time we encounter rain, snow, or wind while camping. It was pretty cold in the mountains so for me, using the geyser shower system was not something I was interested in doing but thankfully we had some Klean Freak body wipes that were seriously amazing. No sticky residue, no overbearing scent, but definitely had me feeling fresh and clean. I did wash my hair using the geyser shower system with Robs help so I didn’t have to get my body wet. Rob, on the other hand, had no problem using the Geyser shower. The water is very warm it’s just the cold outside air that kills it for me. Since Rob is a very talented cook we ate very well the entire trip. He made spaghetti, brats, hamburgers, eggs/sausage & cheese, and pancakes and I threw together a “charcuterie board” (on paper plates) for snacking, so we felt pretty well taken care of on the food side of camping. When we went to Jackson Hole we took the gondola to the top of the mountain where there sits a little shack that serves waffles and hot beverages. I had an Irish hot chocolate that was to die for! We didn’t try the waffles but definitely plan to the next time we go because everyone was raving about how great they were. We also checked out a bar called Million Dollar Cowboy Bar where their bar stools were saddles! We only stayed for a drink and some pictures then moved on to look at the different shops before stopping for a beer and an appetizer at the Roadhouse Pub & Eatery. This was an fun mix of a trip where we were able to enjoy camping with beautiful views, and the town of Jackson Hole with its shops, restaurants, and ski resort.
